Privacy Policy

ABN Signal's privacy policy: what public record data we display, what visitor data we collect, and how we handle it. We do not sell visitor data.

Last updated:

Policy scope

Three commitments: we display only public record data from the Australian Business Register, we collect minimal analytics to improve the site, and we do not sell visitor data.

What this policy covers

This policy covers the ABN Signal website and its services. External data sources, linked websites, and third-party services are not governed by this policy.

Public record data on display

We display business record data sourced from the Australian Business Register. You will see fields like entity names, ABN numbers, status, entity types, registration dates, and related identifiers.

All of this is public record data. No private personal information appears on the site - residential addresses, phone numbers, and email addresses of business operators are excluded.

The site reflects what the source records show at the time of the latest weekly refresh.

What we collect from visitors

When you visit the site, we collect standard web analytics data:

  • Pages visited and navigation paths
  • Browser type and device category
  • Referring URL
  • Approximate location based on IP address

We use this data to understand how people use the site and where to improve it. Analytics data is retained for up to 12 months. We do not sell visitor data to third parties.

Cookies

The site uses a small number of cookies for session handling and basic functionality. If we introduce analytics or preference cookies in the future, we will disclose them here and provide appropriate controls.

Third-party services

We rely on third-party cloud infrastructure for hosting and delivery. These providers operate under their own privacy policies and maintain established data protection practices.

Data-related requests

If you believe the site displays information about you that should not be public, contact us through the contact page. We aim to respond within 14 days.

Because we source data from a public registry, we cannot remove records from the Australian Business Register itself. We can review how we present that data within our site.

Scope and limitations

Coverage is limited to ABN Signal - the Australian Business Register, government bodies, and other external services are outside this policy's scope. When we update these terms, the revised version will appear here with a new date.
