What this feed shows
This feed lists entities whose GST status field changed in recent weekly data refreshes. GST status indicates whether an entity appears to hold a current GST registration.
Changes here may reflect business activity shifts, voluntary deregistration, or administrative updates at the registry level.
How to read these entries
Each entry shows the previous and new GST status values, the ABN involved, and the detection date. The actual change may have occurred at any point during the preceding week.
A detected GST status change does not by itself confirm tax obligations or compliance outcomes. It is a visible difference between two weekly snapshots. See the GST Status glossary page and the guide to GST status for interpretation.
Why these changes matter
GST registration status signals whether an entity is currently registered to collect and remit Goods and Services Tax. When GST status moves from Active to Cancelled, it may indicate that the entity has fallen below the GST turnover threshold, voluntarily deregistered, or been deregistered by the ATO.
For businesses issuing or receiving tax invoices, this field is directly relevant. An entity without active GST registration cannot validly issue tax invoices, which affects input tax credit claims. Accounts payable teams and auditors track GST status changes to verify that suppliers remain GST-registered throughout the invoicing period.
This page does not confirm tax obligations or compliance standing.
